Powderly signs for Thoroughbreds
John Ryan added to his squad last night with the signature of 17 year old Eoin Powderly.
Eoin who has played all of his football in the Kildare and District Underage League with Kilcock Celtic was delighted to put pen to paper for Kildare County.
“ It has always been an ambition of mine to play Eircom League Football and I am delighted that I now have that chance with Kildare County” said Eoin last night after signing his first ever contract.
John Ryan having signed Eoin said “Eoin has been highly recommended to me and if he proves himself in training I will have no hesitation in playing him in the first squad. I believe that there is a lot of good talent in Kildare and Eoin can show that if you are good enough you are old enough”
Eoin has played his schoolboy Football in Kilcock and has been a member of the Academy in Kildare since under 10. Eoin was also selected for the Regional Cente in Peamount and is in the final 36 for selection of the Irish team to play in Belgium.
Ger Lynch Manager of Kilcock Celtic was delighted for Eoin “ That is why I got involved in football in the first place so that children could advance and play to their highest ability. I am sure that Eoin will make his debut shortly and I have no fear . There are a lot of good players around the county it is just a matter of giving their commitment and the cream always rises to the top.”
Pat Mc Nally Secretary of the Underage League was delighted with the news” Eoin has always been hugely committed and I am sure that he will be knocking on the door of the first team very shortly” he said last night.

Eoin participated in his first training session last night and is off to day to final trials for the Irish Squad. All at Kildare County wish him well in the trials and in his new future at Kildare County.
