FAI Cup 3rd Round draw

The draw for the 3rd round of the 2011 FAI Cup has thrown up just one all Premier Division tie, with Dundalk set to host Galway United.

Out of the 16 games, five non-league sides will test their abilities against teams in the top tier. St Patrick’s Athletic will make the trip to Leinster Senior League side Crumlin United, Cherry Orchard host UCD and the holders, Sligo Rovers, will welcome Limerick’s Pike Rovers to The Showgrounds.

Bohemians will welcome Cork outfit Douglas Hall to Dalymount, while Youghal United’s first appearance in the 3rd round has earned them a home tie against Pat Devlin’s Bray Wanderers.

Elsewhere east Cork outfit Midleton bring Cork City to Knockgriffin Park – an interesting pairing considering Cork assistant manager Billy Woods had played for the Magpies recently – and league champions Shamrock Rovers will play Athlone Town at Tallaght.

All games are set to be played the weekend of June 5th.
