Bray Wanderers -v- St Patrick's Athletic
There will be a meeting of two inform sides at the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night where Bray Wanderers will host St. Patricks Athletic in the Airtricity Premier Division. (Kick off, 7.45pm)
Bray have won three and drawn two of their last five league games. St Pats are also unbeaten in their last five league and cup games and have managed to score eight goals in their last two home games.
Bray head into the game with some injury concerns, Darren Quigley (elbow), Gary Shaw (foot) and Stephen Brennan (calf) will all miss the game for third placed Wanderers. However, Director of Football Pat Devlin has added Stephen Last, Shane O'Connor and Dan McGuinness to the home squad for the visit of Pats.
Speaking after Monday's 1-1 draw with Bohemians at Dalymount Park Devlin said he was disappointed not to get the three points "When we got as far as the 94th minute I suppose we really should have held on for the points". Looking towards what will be his side's third game in a week Devlin added, “It will be very tough against St. Pats but we are all looking forward to it".
St Patricks Athletic captain Conor Kenna continues to miss out. Kenna is suffering from an injured knee that has showed up a torn tendon under his knee cap and he is likely to be out for a few more weeks yet.
St Pats midfielder, Anto Murphy, is in line to make his 100th appearance for the Saints on Friday. Pats manager Pete Mahon paid tribute to the man he brought in from Bohemians over the winter, “It is a great achievement for Anto, and I hope he goes on to win one hundred more. It is great to have him back at the Club and I was keen to have him part of the squad having previously managed him at UCD in 2005. Recently Dave Mulcahy made a dramatic impact during his 100th appearance, so I'd be hoping for the same from Anto against Bray on Friday!".
Fridays game against St.Pats will be Bray's 800th in the League of Ireland since they joined the League for the inaugural 1st Division season in 1985. Bray have failed to keep a clean sheet against St.Pats in the last 16 meetings between the sides in all competitions.
