Bohemians -v- Bray Wanderers
Bohemians will be hoping to begin the second round of fixtures in much the same way they began the first, with a victory over Bray. However, “The Seagulls” have improved immensely since that opening night defeat and will draw confidence from the fact they have yet to lose away from home this season as they travel to Dalymount Park. (Kick off, 7.45pm)
An unlucky loss to Derry ended Bohemians recent run of form and Keith Buckley, who had become a regular in the Bohs team, red card in that game rules him out of this fixture. This puts even more strain on the home team’s slim squad but young winger, Lee Dixon looks set to benefit and will hope to impress on the either flank.
Pat Fenlon admits that the visitors are “flying at the moment” and had plenty of praise for his opposite manager, Pat Devlin. “Since Pat’s gone in there last season they have been fantastic. They’ve worked very hard to get where they are and they deserve a lot of credit.”
Bray have no new worries after their stalemate at Oriel Park and they will be looking to continue their strong form. They sit proudly in second place, and this can be partly attributed to their stern defence who have managed three clean sheets in their last four games is. Pat Devlin will pick from much the same squad as he did for Dundalk. However he recognised that this would be difficult week for his young side
"It will be a tough game, it’s always tough in Dalymount, in fact it's been a tough week but we just have to get on with it"
The visitors will be a very different proposition compared to when these two sides last met which ended with a 3-1 victory for Fenlon’s men. Killian Brennan scored that day and is in line to play his 100th league game for Bohemians in his new position of centre midfield. Travelling specialists Bray will be encouraged by the fact Bohs have only won against Drogheda in Dalymount this season and will be looking to get something out of this fixture. More good news for the away side is Bohs defender Aidan Price will face a late fitness test while Glenn Cronin and Christy Fagan are still missing.
