Week 6

Credit:

There were no winning bets in Week 5, as Longshot, ET’s Aidan Farrelly and supporter David Smith all lost €20 each.

All three categories will be looking to make amends this time around, with Longshot taking on ET’s Cathal Breathnach and Galway United supporter Jimmy Power.

Longshot
It’s time to start making some money again and this week I’m going for a nice little treble which should boost the profit up a bit more.

There’s little value in games, with Shamrock Rovers and Finn Harps very short priced to win their ties.

Derry City host Dundalk at the Brandywell, and while there are likely to be goals the home side look decent odds at 21/20.

Bohemians (11/10) still have Pat Fenlon in the dugout and after a credible draw away to St Pat’s last weekend, they should have enough to beat UCD at Belfield tonight.

Finally in the second tier, I can’t see much to separate Waterford from Cork at the RSC, so a draw could be a good punt at 21/10.

Longshot’s Selections
Bet 1: €20 treble; Derry City to beat Dundalk (21/20), Bohemians to beat UCD (11/10), Waterford United to draw with Cork City (21/10).

Reporter Selections
Team ET have been awful to date, losing every week, but Cathal Breathnach is in the not so hotseat to try and cut our losses.
Bet 1: €10 double; Drogheda United to beat Galway (13/8) & Bohemians to beat UCD (11/10).
Bet 2: €10 double; Shamrock Rovers -2 goals against Bray Wanderers (13/5), Sligo Rovers to beat St Pat's (10/11).

Supporter Selections
The fans are just about in profit, so Jimmy Power will be looking to move closer to Longshot’s healthy figure with a big return from this seven selection accumulator.
Bet 1: €20 accum; Derry City to beat Dundalk (21/20), Bohemians to beat UCD (11/10), Shamrock Rovers to beat Bray Wanderers (1/3), Finn Harps to beat Salthill Devon (1/4), Waterford United to draw with Cork City (21/10), Sligo Rovers to beat St Patrick’s Athletic (10/11).
