Scully looking to Limerick attack

Limerick manager Pat Scully has seen his side pick up seven points from 12 in the opening four games of the season, and will be looking for a further three when Limerick travel to Tolka Park this Friday evening.

Striker Stephen O’Flynn returns from suspension having been sent off against Finn Harps on the opening weekend of the league and Scully feels he, and the rest of his attack, can cause a lot of problems for Shelbourne.

“Having Steve O’Flynn back will be a great boost. He is a top player and in my view one of the best goal scorers in the country. Along with the other attackers we have, I feel we have the ability to cause Shels a lot of problems.”

Scully, a former player at Shelbourne, knows how difficult a challenge it will be. “Shels have yet to drop any points, they have a lot of experienced players and are a very physical team, so it will be vital that we compete against them.”

The returning O’Flynn lightens the personnel problems at the club with Dave Ryan, Gary Sheahan, Thomas Lyons and James O’Brien all missing for a period of weeks.

Limerick beat Shelbourne twice in the league home and away last season with Shelbourne winning once in Jackman Park.
