UMBRO announce new Hoops kit deal
Shamrock Rovers have today announced a new deal which will see Umbro continue to make their kits for the next four years. The deal, which covers all Rovers sides from schoolboys to the senior team, will run out after the 2014 League of Ireland season.
Rovers marketing officer Mark Lynch said that the club had an "obligation to protect and nurture" the club brand, and went on to say that the Rovers merchandise is currently "the best in the league".
“Umbro are a long-standing partner of Shamrock Rovers FC," said Lynch, "and we are delighted to be able to extend this partnership until 2014. Together we have developed the club’s merchandise to be the best in the league and we will continue to offer our fans the biggest and best selection of merchandise, with something for everybody in our ever-growing range of items."
The deal isn't just a sweet one for Rovers though, with Jonathan Courtenay of Umbro Ireland also commenting on how the Rovers deal is a "huge positive" for the kit manufacturers.
“We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Rovers and supplying them with the finest football product available" added Courtenay. "Shamrock Rovers have also recently taken over the running of the Club Megastore at Tallaght Stadium and we would like to take this opportunity to wish the club all the best with this opportunity.”
Umbro currently make kits for a number of Airtricity League clubs apart from the league champions, including Bohemians, St. Patrick's Athletic, Dundalk, Shelbourne and Bray Wanderers.
