Week 3

Credit:

All three gamblers failed to bag a winner in Week 2, although this week’s ExtraTime representative Brendan White is hopeful of getting the hack-pack off the mark, in the race to catch up with Longshot. After Brian Gartlan failed to pick a winning bet for the supporters, it’s the turn of Dylan Farrell this week to try and turn the negative figure into a positive.

Also, yet another plug for our three-way league between Longshot, a guest ExtraTime reporter and YOU every week. The rules are as follows: wait for the prompt each Thursday on our Facebook page and send your €20 worth of selections to our usual e-mail address extratimelive@gmail.com. An entrant will be selected at random each Friday morning, to compete against Longshot and the ET reporter. Keep an eye on the end of the article each week to track who’s making profit and who’s losing their hard-earned cash.

Longshot
I know Cheltenham has probably taken all your money this week, but the ball is still rolling for Longshot as Series 3 gets underway tonight.

Last week we didn’t have much luck, but we’re still going to be in profit for some weeks to come after the opening weekend, and we’re hopeful that this week’s pick can get us back to winning ways.

Yet again we’re putting all of this week’s pot on one quad. Shamrock Rovers look fairly decent odds (4/5) to get the better of St Pat’s at Tallaght tonight, especially after Pat’s let a two goal lead slip against Bray last weekend.

Sligo Rovers should get back to winning ways after losing at home to the champions last week, and at 10/11 they appear to be good value against Bray at the Carlisle Grounds, while Dundalk have the potential to edge out Bohemians in what should be a thoroughly enjoyable contest at Oriel Park. The Lilywhites are 11/10, while Cork City are the same odds to defeat a heavily-depleted Limerick at home in the First Division.

Longshot’s Selections
Bet 1: €20 four-timer; Shamrock Rovers to beat St Patrick’s Athletic (4/5), Dundalk to beat Bohemians (11/10), Sligo Rovers to beat Bray Wanderers (10/11), Cork City to beat Limerick (11/10).

Reporter Selections
This week Brendan White is in the hot-seat and he has gone for three separate gambles.
Bet 1: €10 five-timer; Shamrock Rovers to beat St Patrick’s Athletic (4/5), UCD to beat Galway United (15/8), Dundalk to beat Bohemians (11/10), Derry City to beat Drogheda United 4/6, Sligo Rovers to beat Bray Wanderers (10/11).
Bet 2: €5 double; Wexford Youths to beat Shelbourne (13/2), Finn Harps to beat Monaghan United (7/4).
Bet 3:€5 single; Gary McCabe to score 1st for Shamrock Rovers -v- St Patrick’s Athletic (9/1).

Supporter Selections
Dylan Farrell was the lucky one for Week 3, and he’s taking on the bookies with three separate bets.
Bet 1: €10 double; Finn Harps v Monaghan United to be a draw (11/5), and Shelbourne to beat Wexford Youths 2-0 (5/1).
Bet 2: €5 wincast; Galway United and Karl Moore (15/2).
Bet 3: €5 single; Eamon Zayed to score 1st for Derry City -v- Drogheda United (9/2).
