Williams completes MK Dons transfer
Ex-Sporting Fingal midfielder Shaun Williams has completed his move to English League 1 side Milton Keynes Dons.
24-year-old Williams has signed a one year deal at the club. He became a free agent after the demise of Sporting Fingal before the start of the Airtricity Premier Division season.
MK Dons are currently seeking clarification from FIFA and the Football League as to whether Williams is eligible to feature for the Dons this season after only becoming a free agent after the transfer window had already shut.
"I am delighted to have captured the services of Shaun, he was sought after by a number of clubs and it is terrific news that he chose a move to MK Dons would be ideal for his progression”, Dons boss Karl Robinson told their official website.
“At 24-years-old he matches the criteria we are looking for - he is young, ambitious and hungry for success, just like the Football Club. To be named Young Player of the Year by his fellow professionals shows he is rated in the game and emphasises what we as a management staff already know, we have added another quality player to the Club."
