Limerick FC and the Football Association of Ireland have resolved all their differences, a joint statement from Pat O’Sullivan, Chairman of Limerick and Paddy Mc Caul, President, of the Football Association of Ireland said.

Limerick had brought a legal case against the FAI after failure to sanction a friendly match against Barcelona last year. The statement said that both "look forward to working together in future for the benefit of the Irish football family".

"Both parties wish to acknowledge the important contribution of Mr Paul Sreenan SC in his role as mediator in bringing about this successful resolution. Both parties will make no further public comment on the matter."

Both parties issued detailed statements last year following the decision, the FAI laying out their reasons for the conclusion, as well as Limerick FC’s response. The FAI believed they had commercial agreements preventing the game taking place in a stadium with a capacity in excess of 15,000.

Limerick FC disagreed with the aforementioned reasons, although now seem content with resolving the situation, allowing the club to focus on their football.
