Monaghan United have announced through their official website that Roddy Collins will be their new senior manager.

The club had been searching for a new manager ever since Mick Cooke departed for Drogheda United a week before the start of the new season.

Collins, who won the double with Bohemians in 2001, has been out of management since February 2010 after a brief, gameless spell at Cork City. He currently works as a pundit with RTE on various sport shows including MNS on Monday nights.

Monaghan have also confirmed that Aidan Lynch will be assistant to Collins.
