Two new faces at Galway United

With only eleven days to go until the Airtricity Premier Division starts afresh, Galway United have today announced six signings for the new season as Sean Connor goes about the arduous task of assembling as competitive a squad as possible on undoubtedly the smallest playing budget he has ever had to work with.
Striker Enda Curran signed on the dotted line a number of weeks ago, but since then licensing issues and a desire to promote stability behind the scenes have been foremost in the minds of those tasked with resuscitating the ailing western club.
Last Friday's controversial appeal decision gave The Tribesmen a lifeline, and now the dedicated members of United's Supporters Trust, who have taken over the day-to-day running of the club, must galvanise support and ensure that past off-field problems become exactly that - a thing of the past.
The new dawn has started with the arrival of fresh faces in the shape of Steve Feeney, the versatile former Sligo Rovers player who has played under Connor before, and 22-year-old winger Karl Moore, who has represented Ireland at many underage levels including U21 and joins the club from Premier Division rivals UCD.
Connor has also confirmed that four members of his squad from last season, Gary Curran, Paul Sinnott, Shane Keogh, and Stephen Walsh have all put pen to paper on new deals for 2011. Walsh was the club's Young Player of the Year last term while Keogh is regarded as another exciting young local prospect who may now get extra opportunities to shine.
Further confirmed signings are expected in the coming days.
