Development work at Mervue Utd’s grounds at Fahy’s Field is progressing on schedule in preparation for the club’s opening home game in the Airtricity First Division. Having been granted their First Division licence by the FAI Club Licensing committee last week the club is now focusing on completing all works on the grounds as they prepare for a third season in the Airtricity League.

That first home game will be the first Galway derby game of the season with fellow city rivals Salthill Devon on Friday 11th March, which the club hopes will see a big turnout as Johnny Glynn’s side return home to Fahy’s Field for League of Ireland football.

The club is holding a public meeting this Thursday night (24th February) at the clubhouse at Fahy’s Field for all supporters to come along and see the club’s plans for the season ahead. The meeting will take place upstairs in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. and all are welcome to come along.

Mervue Utd season tickets are currently on sale for the new 2011 Airtricity First Division season. A full season ticket costs €75 (Airtricity matches), €50 for students/OAP’s, children under 14 accompanied by an adult get free admission to all home games this season. Excellent value for sixteen home games. Season tickets are available from the clubhouse at Fahy’s Field (091 – 771609) and all club officials.
