Scully aware of Tracy threat

IT Tallaght manager Pat Scully will need no introduction to one of IT Carlow's prize assets ahead of Wednesday's CUFL Premier Division Final as Shane Tracy plays for Scully for Limerick FC.
Limerick boss Scully has managed ITT for several seasons now and he is well aware that Tracy will be a key player for IT Carlow at Whitehall Home Farm.
"Shane has been tremendous for me at Limerick. He's a very good footballer at any level of the game but in colleges football he really stands out," said Scully.
"I've been delighted with how he has done since I started working with him at Limerick. After coming home from Arsenal he was unlucky with injuries but he's been back to his best in the past year.
"IT Carlow will be looking for him to show his quality in the final and I'll be letting my lads at IT Tallaght know all about the threat he can be."
Both sides are looking for an historic first national colleges league crown and a big attendance is anticipated at Tallaght Stadium (7.00pm) on Wednesday.
The Dublin side have proven to be one of the meanest defences in the college game with 1-0 wins in the quarter-final over DIT and semi-final against UUJ showing their quality at the back.
Conor Hogan in goal has had an impression season for ITT while captain David Vickery, Bray Wanderers defender David Webster, Derek Kavanagh and Craig Rothery have all consistent campaigns.
Longford Town striker Don Cowan is perhaps the best known of Tallaght's attacking assets and Scully admits the former Shamrock Rovers youngster has impressed this term.
"Don's pace and strength will always cause teams problems but this season he has been getting amongst the goals and that has given us a bit extra," said Scully.
Scully believes the secret to ITT's success this year has been their appetite for work - which included 8.00am training sessions on Monday mornings.
"We sat down at the start of the season and said what we'd look to put the effort in to try and achieve the potential of the team," said Scully.
"The attitude and commitment the lads have shown has been phenomenal. It is the work-rate we've been prepared to show in games that has seen us through.
"We know the final is going to be a real challenge at IT Carlow have an amazing squad for colleges football because of their FAI Football Course. They've scored lots of goals along the way.
"But we've produced some good results this year beating the likes of UCD and DIT so I'm positive we can come up with the goods again."
