Monaghan United have seen a second game called off within a week with the news their planned pre-season friendly against Derry City scheduled for this Friday night at the Brandywell will not now take place. The official reason for the cancellation of the game is due to the close proximity of their league clash on the 11th April.
Monaghan's game against Bray Wanderers scheduled for Tuesday night was called off also. However, not without a hint of irony, Monaghan United have confirmed that they will play Galway United at Gortakeegan on Sunday. The kick-off for that match has now been rescheduled for 3.00pm.
