Scully continues Limerick player search

Limerick FC manager Pat Scully is continuing his search for new players ahead of his side’s 2011 Airtricity First Division title challenge.

Having seen his side fail to gain a play-off spot last season by four points, Scully wasted no time in putting a squad together, with a mix of talented young players and experienced campaigners. Scully has brought in keeper Barry Ryan from Galway United and defender John Frost from Sporting Fingal so far; both with many years experience in the top flight of Irish football.

“We're in talks with a number of players at the moment and I can see that the players out there are positive about Limerick as a club in progression,” Pat Scully said. “We won't be signing many players as everyone at the Club has worked very hard on our underage system and we have some excellent young players who will be part of next season's squad.”

“But we have identified three or four players who we feel can improve us that extra bit we need and I can assure the supporters that myself and the board are working hard to assemble a team we can all be proud of.”

Peter Hynes was the latest addition to the squad two weeks ago with youngster Cian Bourke moving to the first team from their Under-20 squad.
