PFAI squad finish 3rd in Oslo
The PFAI FIFpro squad sent to the Vallhall Arena in Oslo to play in a four team competition today have finished third.
Eighteen players made the trip to Norway but they suffered defeat to Finland in their semi-final, before beating Sweden in the 3rd/4th place play-off thanks to a single second-half goal from Mark Leech.
Sean Kelly did bag a penalty in the first game against Finland but the League of Ireland team were unlucky to lose 2-1.
Meanwhile, Brian Shelley, at the centre of the Bohemians controversy and possibly on his way to Australia, turned in a solid performance at right-back for the PFAI squad while Eamon Zayed and Stu Byrne also impressed.
