Behan might make Cork return

Denis Behan could be on the way back to Cork City as part of a loan-deal according to Turner’s Cross chief Tommy Dunne.

Speaking on local radio earlier today, Dunne confirmed he has approached Hartlepool United about bringing the Abbeyfeale-man back to Leeside.

“The latest is that I’ve obviously made enquiries about Denis and I spoke to the manager [Mick Wadsworth] and he’s going back to his Chief Executive and needs to find out the feasibility of it and the financial side of it,” Dunne told Red Fm sport.

“He also told that there are quite a few games that Hartlepool have over the next number of weeks. I think they have six o seven games in the next two weeks, so nothing will be decided before then. He’ll have to come back to me now on whether it’s viable or not.

“Denis is one of a number of people we’re looking at, so we’re just trying to get as many irons in the fire asuch now so we’re not short by the start of the season.”

Behan won a League of Ireland title with Cork in ’05, and also picked up an FAI Cup and Setanta Cup during his time at Turner’s Cross – scoring the winner in 07 as Cork won the blue-ribband competition in the RDS.
