League of Ireland Fixtures Released

Fixtures for the Airtricity League of Ireland season have been released today. Both the Premier Division and First Division fixtures have been released but are subject to the decisions of the FAI Club Licencing Committee.

Reigning League of Ireland Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers will begin the defence of their crown with a tough home game against Dundalk. League runners-up Bohemians travel to the Carlisle Grounds to face Bray Wanderers. Sporting Fingal and UCD meet in an opening day Dublin-derby in Fingal’s new Dalymount Park home. St. Patrick’s Athletic have an away day at Galway United while newly promoted Derry City welcome FAI Cup winners Sligo Rovers to the Brandywell.

The final day sees Shamrock Rovers at home to Galway United while Bohemians face a trip to Derry City. Sporting Fingal finish with a Dublin derby with St. Patrick’s Athletic, UCD have an away tie with Sligo Rovers and Bray Wanderers welcome Dundalk to the Carlisle Grounds.

In the Airtricity First Division, last season’s runners-up Waterford United start with an intriguing away tie against Shelbourne while Limerick go to relegated Drogheda United. Monaghan United are away to Wexford Youths while Cork City are at home to Finn Harps. Longford Town face Salthill Devon and Athlone Town are home to Mervue United.

Waterford United are at home to Longford Town on the final day of the season on October 29th. Monaghan United welcome Salthill Devon while Limerick are away to Finn Harps. Shelbourne are away to Athlone Town, Cork City face Mervue United in Fahy’s Field while Drogheda United are away to Wexford Youths.

The FAI Ford Cup Final will take place on Sunday November 6th 2011.
