Preview: UCD vs Bray Wanderers
Bray Wanderers are the visitors to Belfield tonight. Both these sides suffered heavy defeats last Friday night. An understrength UCD side went down by four goals to one at the Brandywell, while Cork demolished Eddie Gormleys side by three goals to nil.
In the reverse fixture at the beginning of the season, UCD came away with a two nil win, thanks to two goals in the first half hour from Paul Byrne and Timmy Purcell. That result represents UCD's only league win this season.
Prior to recent defeats by Sligo and Cork, both by three goals to nil, Sligo had won six and drawn one of their previous seven games. Interestingly all those wins were by the minimum one goal margin.
Along with Derry and Shamrock Rovers, UCD are the leagues draw specialists. The Students have shared the points with the opposition on no fewer than five occasions this season.
Defender Brian Shortall is again missing for UCD through injury. Ian Bermingham and Conor Kenna are currently rated as doubtful - they both missed last Fridays game. Matt Gregg will return to the starting line up and Ronan Finn is fit again.
Goalkeeper Chris O'Connor will be Brays only absentee. Recent signing Alan Gough will continue between the posts.
Only Cobh have scored fewer goals this season than these two sides.
Three points could lift UCD out of the relegation zone. Depending on how Drogheda, Sligo and Cork get on tonight, Bray could find themselves in fourth position again if they are able to record a win.
Kick off at Belfield is at 7.45pm
