Six agree 2011 St. Pat’s stay

St. Patrick’s Athletic have announced that six players have already committed themselves to the club for the 2011 Premier Division season. The club has also announced that they are currently in discussions with a numbers of other players in the squad in relation to securing deals for next season.

Keeper’ Chris Bennion, defender Derek Pender, midfielders Dave Mulcahy and Derek Doyle along with strikers Ryan Guy and Danny North have also agreed deals to keep them at the club for next season, but Dave McAllister looks set to move on.

Commenting on today announcement, Saints manager Pete Mahon said: “I was delighted with the progress of the team this season and I am very happy with the players who have committed to the club for next year. I haven’t spoken to all players yet and discussions are still ongoing with a number of players."

"David McAllister is currently undergoing tests at Sheffield United so we await developments on that front. It’s a bit of a silly season in the league at the moment as regards rumours of “players moving here and there”, all I can say is that in relation to players at St Patrick’s Athletic, any official announcement will first be made through the club website”.
