Rowe escapes to Bray

Want away striker Ger Rowe has finally transferred to Bray Wanderers after Shamrock Rovers agreed terms for the 23 year old striker.

Rowe, who had previous spells with Shelbourne and Ballymena, had handed a transfer request into Rovers, but had refused all offers until now.

"It was Ger's decision to seek a transfer," says Hoops' chairman, Jonathan Roche. "So we're happy to put this matter behind us and move on with our preparations for the new season.

"As the player insisted he would never again play for Rovers his move will have no effect on our plans and we are delighted with the squad of players Pat Scully has assembled."

Shamrock Rovers' play Wexford Youths in their final pre-season friendly on Friday Feb 29 at Ferrycarrig Park. KO 8pm.
