Ipswich's Murphy called up to Ireland team
Keiren Westwood has been sent back to Coventry for medical attention after the Irish ‘keeper picked up a facial injury in training today.
Westwood, 25, with five caps to his name so far, will be replaced by Ipswich stopper Brian Murphy in the lead up to Tuesday night’s crunch qualifier away to Slovakia.
Former Bohemians ‘keeper Murphy is still uncapped at senior level despite receiving a call-up to the squad against France back in November 2009.
The Waterford native, 27, has made 16 appearances for the Tractor Boys since moving to the south-east of England from Dalymount last season but has only featured sporadically for Roy Keane’s side so far this season.
