Bray Wanderers Sign Alan Gough

Bray Wanderers have signed vastly experienced Goalkeeper Alan Gough (10/03/72) until the end of the 2008 eircom League of Ireland Premier Division Season.

Gough was previously part of Tony Cousin's Galway United management team.

His former clubs included Portsmouth FC, Galway United, Fulham FC, Shelbourne FC, Glentoran FC and Derry City FC.

Gough began his career initially as an apprentice with Portsmouth before linking up with Galway United. After 18 months with Galway, he joined Shelbourne, where he won several honours. In July 1999, Gough made the switch to Glentoran and had an excellent first season. Gough won 3 League titles in his stint with the Glens.

He finished his career as team-captain at Galway United at the end of the 2006 season but continued to play in 2007 as an emergency goalkeeper as well as his assistant manager role.

He has won numerous honours both north and south of the border. They include five under-21 international caps with the Republic of Ireland in the early 1990s, youth caps, FAI Cup medals and League Cup medals.
