Both Bray Wanderers and Cork City will be looking to get back to winning ways this Friday night, when they clash at the Carlisle Grounds (kick-off 7.45pm). Bray’s four match winning run in the league came to a shuddering halt last Saturday night when they were hammered 3-0 in Sligo, while Cork followed up their win over the Bit O’ Red the previous week with a late loss away to Bohemians.

That was Cork’s third loss in four league outings, and manager Alan Mathews knows that his side won’t get anything easy here, as they look to move back into the top half of the table. “Bray have had a good start to the season and they are riding high,” Mathews acknowledged. “It was a tight game between us at the start of the season at Turner’s Cross, and they have proven that they are a match for any side in the country.

“We know that we will have to produce a good performance to take a positive result from the match. We will be looking to pick ourselves up from last week’s performance. I felt that we should have got a point at Dalymount Park and we were disappointed to take nothing away from the game, but these things happen and we just have to move on.”

Team News: Cork will be without the services of midfielder Joe Gamble, who misses out through suspension, while fellow midfielder Gareth Farrelly is a long-term absentee with illness.

Eddie Gormley will have a nervous wait before he names his side to take on Cork City in Friday night's eircom League Premier Division clash. Gormley has concerns over Ger Rowe, Alan Cawley and Gary Cronin, who are are all struggling with a virus. Mark Duggan is suffering from a knee injury and both Paul Dunphy and Derek Foran are carrying ankle injuries.

Speaking ahead of the game, Bray supermo Eddie Gormley spoke exclusively to www.braywanderers.ie, he said "We are hoping that a couple of the lads who are on the treatment table at the moment will be available to us for the Cork game. Last week was disappointing but all winning runs have to come to an end at some stage, its down to us to see how soon we can get back to winning ways, that will determine how our season ends up. I have full confidence in every single one of my players and I fully believe they can pick themselves up and get back into the swing of things very soon."
