Coleman gets the call from Trap
Donegal's Seamus Coleman has received an early birthday present in the shape of a call up to Giovanni Trappatoni's Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers, after both Stephen Kelly (calf) and Darren O'Dea (knee) were ruled out of contention.
The former Sligo Rovers defender, who has made six appearances for Everton already this season, will turn 22 the day before the away fixture with Slovakia and is the only uncapped member of the squad who will be hoping for positive results against their two main rivals in Group B.
Keith Treacy and Cillian Sheridan have both been placed on standby.
