Fenlon looking to strengthen squad

Bohemians boss Pat Fenlon is looking to bolster his squad ahead of the close of the July transfer window with a number of possible transfer targets.

The Gypsies take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Dalymount Park on Saturday and Fenlon has admitted that some of the players he is currently monitoring will feature in the friendly.

Fenlon is looking at ex-Saint Patrick's Athletic player Gary Dempsey, who has been training with the squad and is also closing in on an unnamed Spanish player, amongst others.

“Gary Dempsey will play [against Wolves], we've got a Spanish lad in and we're looking to bring in boys from other places, explained Fenlon.

“We've been looking to bring them in for the last month but with so many games it's been difficult to even bring lads in to have a look at them at training due to midweek games.”

Despite having a league against Sligo Rovers on Friday and a vital Champions League tie against TNS the following Tuesday, The Gypsies boss can still see a benefit to Saturday's match which he states is a "necessity" for the club.

“There's nothing at risk as such and I have five or six lads who have been in the team for a lot of the season but are not playing at the moment so it's important they're kept sharp," he declared.
