- This will be the first European game played at Oriel Park since 1991
- If either Fahrudin Kudozovic or Wayne Hatswell score they will be the first non national to score in both legs of a European tie in Lilywhites history
- If any Dundalk player scores it will be the first European goal at Oriel since Leo Flannagan in September 1982 against Liverpool
- Ian Foster spoke to Extratime in the run up to the game “From back to front they are big, big through the centre of the team, technically decent, they try and play out from the back, they are all comfortable on the ball. The front three particularly the wide two players are very good technically, very nippy, very quick, lots of tricks and they link up very well with the central striker. The central midfield player, No 7 was very good all their best stuff went through him and the big No 22 Heinz who scored the goal was a threat from set pieces. When we got in their faces and when we made it difficult for them they struggled but when the game opened up you could see that they are good players. We wilted in the heat last week but hopefully this time we can sustain it for 90 minutes and we can take the game to them. If we get the first goal then they have to score twice and that will be the game plan.” Marc Thome of CS Grevenmacher says “We had a lot of chances to score last week. If we play like last week we have good chance. Dundalk are used to playing on the pitch so they have an advantage. It is a little bit different for us. But we have a very technical team so playing on the pitch like that will have no problem. We are coming to win the match."
