Republic of Ireland to host Norway

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) have confirmed that the Republic of Ireland senior team will play a home friendly at Aviva Stadium against Norway on November 17th.

Norway, who are currently ranked 22nd in the world by FIFA, will provide a strong test at a time when Giovanni Trapattoni’s side will be four matches into their European Championship qualifying campaign.

Drillos, as they are known, have many world names amongst their ranks including Aston Villa's John Carew and Roma's John Arne Riise.

Egil Olsen's men should prove stern opposition to the Boys in Green as they bid to qualify for Euro 2012 which will be hosted by Poland and the Ukraine.
