Scully - Bray performance was an improvement
Shamrock Rovers' manager Pat Scully feels his sides performance against Bray on Monday in the League Cup was a definite improvement over their display in Sligo two days previous. Rovers have not won a game since the end of March when they defeated Galway by two goals to nil at Terryland Park.
Rovers are without a win in their last six outings in all competitions and have slipped to eighth in the table. Reflecting on his sides two games last weekend Scully said - "It's just not going for us, and it was of course disappointing to lose those two games over the weekend. On the positive side, Monday's performance in Bray was better than Sligo on Saturday".
Despite recent results, Scully was optimistic that they will get back to winning ways sooner than later and was also keen to point out that the lean spell being experienced at the moment will serve them in the future - "It will come good and we will come out the other end - then we can reflect positively on these days. We've never experienced anything like this before and when it's over we will be stronger."
Rovers host Stephen Kenny's Derry City on Friday night. After a strong start to the season they too have faltered somewhat in recent weeks and are without a win or a goal in the league since the beginning of April when they defeated St Pats by a goal to nil at Richmond Park.
Kick off at Tolka Park on Friday night is at 8pm.
