Airtricity First Division high fliers welcome Premier Division basement club Bray Wanderers to The Brandywell this Friday evening.

Boss Stephen Kenny used an inexperienced team in Tuesday's EA Sports Cup defeat by Shamrock Rovers.

Derry City have injury doubts over Mark McChrystal, Shane McEleney and Emmet Friars going into the game. James McClean will definitely miss out again because of injury. McClean was carried off in last Friday's league win over Waterford and is expected to be out of action for at least another week.

Bray Wanderers boss Eddie Gormley has major injury problems ahead of the game. Richie Baker (back), David Tyrrell(ankle), David O'Neill(groin) and Dean Zambra(knee) are all certain to miss the trip to Derry on Friday. Bray also has doubts about the fitness of Chris Shields(thigh),John Mulroy(calf) and goalkeeer Brian Kane (hip), all injuries picked up in Tuesday's defeat to Bohemians. Midfielder Colm Tresson returns to the squad having missed out with a knee injury on Tuesday.

Eddie Gormley was disappointed not to have got something from the game against Bohemians. "It was a good effort from the lads, they battled hard and we were still in the game with five minutes left but the second goal finished it off for them. We worked hard all through and that's all I can ask for".

"I'm looking forward to the trip to Derry, in my opinion they still have a Premier squad and it will be a tough night for us. If we keep improving and giving the effort we have been, well, it is the Cup and anything can happen. We need to keep it tight and cut out the defensive errors and then we can get something from the game".

Extratime Prediction: Derry to win 3-1.
