Sligo Rovers have a number of players unavailable for the clash. Eoin Doyle, Alan Keane and Danny Ventre miss out with all three serving one game suspensions. Athlone Town head into this game as underdogs but last Saturday they had a well timed confidence boost with a well deserved and battling 1-0 win against Cork City Foras in Turners Cross while Sligo Rovers who are the leagues in form side at present were putting 5 past Bray Wanderers.

Manager Brendan Place has a long injury and suspension list heading into this game. Long term absentee Gareth Kenna goes under the surgeon’s knife Tuesday on a ligament injury.

Robbie Benson sits this one out with damaged ankle ligament and severe bruising while Robbie Farrell again misses out with a torn stomach muscle. Mark Nolan will also be unavailable following suspension.

Tom O’Halloran returned to training last week but looks set to miss out as he strives to regain fitness while Stephen Place is also struggling with persistent pain in his knee.

Extratime Prediction Sligo to ease to a 2-0 win.
