Our newest Columnist is........
Extratime.ie is delighted to announce that Galway United manager Sean Connor has kindly agreed to join our ever-expanding group of expert columnists, with the first installment due next Tuesday, June 1st.
Joining a line-up that consists of St. Patrick's Athletic's Damian Lynch, Sporting Fingal's Eamon Zayed, and journalist Gareth Maher, Connor is a welcome addition to the extratime team, who aim to bring you the best in opinion, analysis, match reports, video interviews, and features surrounding Irish football.
The Galway boss, who has been front and centre at the heart of League of Ireland football for nearly six years since his appointment as Sligo Rovers boss in September 2004, is looking forward to expressing his forthright opinions on his experiences within the Airtricity League, while also discussing some wider issues surrounding football in general.
As manager of The Tribesmen, Connor is battling against a worsening financial situation that threatens to derail the club at which he arrived in January of this year.
Formerly in charge at Dundalk, Bohemians, and Sligo, Sean has a wealth of experience from a lifetime involved in the game in a variety of roles and, having enjoyed a successful spell on the couches of RTE's MNS programme in 2008, is anxious to try his hand at a new form of interaction with fans of the domestic game.
The winner of our competition to receive a signed jersey from the man himself, selected from the large numbers of correct entries is Sean Maguire from Kilconly in County Galway. Congrats Sean.
