Shane McFaul returns from suspension but John Frost is ruled out and Eamon Zayed faces a fitness test. McFaul was an absentee for last Friday’s 1-1 draw at Shamrock Rovers while Zayed didn’t feature because of a calf strain and Frost continues to suffer with hamstring trouble.

Shane Barrett (thigh) is also doubtful while Stephen Paisley has returned to training following his chest problem though is unlikely to figure in this one. Defender Kenny Browne was struggling with flu earlier in the week, which curtailed his involvement in the mid-week Under-23 international, but is expected to be fit.

Fingal manager Liam Buckley is looking for his side to use last week’s performance and result at Tallaght Stadium as a catalyst to pick up some valuable points in the run-up to the mid-season break on June 8.

“The display against Rovers last week was particularly pleasing as we carved them open on numerous occasions and should have had the game won before the each side scored late on,” he said. “Glen Crowe’s finish was in the style we know he’s capable of, heading home inside the box, and I think that first League goal will do wonders for his confidence.”

Full-back Ger O’Brien is looking forward to the game. “Galway will come to Morton Stadium with no fear. They’ve won at Bohemians already this season and held both Dundalk and Sligo Rovers to draws away from home. However, we’re in confident mood and showed improvements in last week’s 1-1 draw at Shamrock Rovers. It’s about converting those draws into wins as a few results would shoot us right up towards the top.”

“There was a mixed reaction in the dressing-room after the Rovers game because although we would have gladly accepted a draw before the game the game panned out differently and we created lots of decent chances.”

Galway United have won just two of their seven games away from Terryland Park this season. They have won just four games altogether this season and will look at this match to kick start a poor season so far.

Sean Connor’s men are without Karl Sheppard who is on Under-19 International duty with Ireland. Barry Ryan and Rhys Meynell are both out through suspension.
