Cedwyn Scott joins Carlisle United from Notts County
Carlisle United have confirmed the signing of striker Cedwyn Scott on a one-and-a-half-year deal from Notts County for an undisclosed fee.
26-year-old Scott brings experience across English and Scottish football. He began his career at Huddersfield Town before heading north to join Dundee, where he had loan stints at Berwick Rangers and Forfar Athletic.
Returning to England, Scott smoved to Dunston UTS and later Hebburn Town. At Hebburn, he made headlines by netting 21 goals in just half a season. This prolific form earned him a trial at Carlisle United, culminating in a short stint with the club in early 2021.
After making seven appearances for Carlisle during the latter part of the 2020/21 season, the forward moved to Gateshead.
His tally of 24 goals in 45 games in the National League North led to a switch to Notts County.
During his time at Meadow Lane, Scott made 61 appearances and scored 17 goals.
Reflecting on the signing, Carlisle Head Coach Mike Williamson, who has previously worked with Scott, praised the striker's abilities and ambition.
"Cedwyn is a player I’ve worked with before, so we know the quality he possesses," Williamson said.
"He’s at a stage in his career where he’s hungry to progress and kick on, which is the profile of player we’re looking for. He’s got fantastic technical ability in front of goal, he’s really excited to be here, and we’re all looking forward to working with him."
