Former Shels winger Will Jarvis swaps Hull City for Notts County

Will Jarvis has completed a move from Hull City to Notts County for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old, who excelled during two loan spells with Shelbourne, has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract as he embarks on a fresh chapter in his career.

A product of Hull City's academy, Jarvis featured six times in the Sky Bet Championship this season following a successful stint with Shelbourne in the Irish Premier Division. His performances in Dublin earned him widespread acclaim, including two Irish Player of the Month awards, and solidified his reputation as one of the league’s rising stars.

Notts County’s Director, Richard Montague, highlighted the club's excitement at securing Jarvis.

“Will has been one of our top transfer targets for some time now, so we’re absolutely delighted to bring him to Meadow Lane on a long-term deal,” Montague said.

“He’s quick, direct and tricky and poses a huge threat both in terms of goals and assists. While we’re very confident Will can make an immediate impact, with regular game time in our system we feel he has the potential to significantly improve and climb the leagues with us.”

Although Jarvis has been part of Hull’s first-team set-up for several years, it was his time at Shelbourne that marked a turning point in his career. Initially joining towards the end of their 2023 season, Jarvis quickly impressed and returned for a second stint in January 2024.

During his second spell, Jarvis scored nine goals and provided six assists, helping to propel Shels to the top of the Irish Premier Division before being recalled by Hull in August.

Shelbourne manager Damien Duff praised Jarvis on his departure, calling him a “special, special player.”

Jarvis also left his mark in European football with Shelbourne, scoring a decisive goal in their UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier against Gibraltar’s St Joseph’s to set up a memorable tie with Swiss side FC Zurich.

Notts County fans will be eager to see if the York-born winger can replicate his Shelbourne form as he settles into life at Meadow Lane.
