13 players commit to Treaty United for 2025 campaign
With nine weeks to go until Treaty United start their league campaign under new manager Sean Russell, they have already announced 13 players who will be part of his squad for 2025.
Goalkeeper Katie Irwin has committed to the Limerick side, having taken over from Canadian stopper Anne-Marie Ulliac towards the end of last season. Russell will also be able to call on right-back Anna Rockett, who joined from the US, and Canadian centre-back Mara McCleary, both of whom arrived at the Markets Field in July of last year.
Ayaka Ikeza, who can play either at left-back or in a more advanced role down the left wing, is another player to re-sign for 2025, along with Grace McInerney, who will be starting her fourth season in Treaty colours, and youngster Aibhlinn Cotter, who steps up from the club’s underage system.
Jillian O’Toole and academy graduate Grace Gleeson will be available for midfield duties, along with Cara Griffin, who has been a part of the club’s senior squad since they entered the league in 2020.
Anna Dignam, who joins from Shamrock Rovers’ WU19s, and underage international Madison McGuane, who has been promoted from Treaty’s academy sides, will also provide midfield options.
Up front, Treaty have retained the services of striker Katie Lawlee, who scored six goals in all competitions last term. They have also brought in a new striker, Madelyn Robbins, who arrives from IF Grótta in Iceland, having previously played in her native Canada, the US, Italy, and Turkey.
Treaty’s opening league fixture will be against league newcomers Waterford on Saturday, 8 March, at the Markets Field (kick-off 3 pm).
