Doncaster Rovers sign Rob Street on loan from Lincoln City
Doncaster Rovers have added to their squad for the second half of the season by securing forward Rob Street on loan from Lincoln City. The 23-year-old will wear the number nine shirt during his stay at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Street expressed enthusiasm about the move, describing it as a pivotal moment in his career.
“This is an important time in my career,” Street said.
“I’m an ambitious person and I think Doncaster’s ambition this season matches my own. I’d like to kick on now and really kick-start my career.”
The Oxford-born forward credited a conversation with Rovers manager Grant McCann for solidifying his decision to join the club.
“He was really positive about what he wants to do, how he wants to play and what he wants his team to look like. It was a very good offer for what I want to play in and what I want to do this season.”
Street began his career at Crystal Palace, progressing through their academy before gaining experience on loan at clubs like Torquay United, Newport County and Stevenage Town.
He joined Cheltenham Town in 2023 and made 20 starts before an injury disrupted his campaign. A move to Lincoln City followed, but strong competition for places limited his opportunities.
Rovers manager Grant McCann praised Street’s potential and work ethic.
“Rob is a player that we’ve been watching for a long time,” McCann said.
“He’s powerful, he’s quick, he’s going to run in behind teams. He’s a great lad, so he’ll fit into our changing room.”
Street is eligible to feature in Saturday’s clash against Port Vale and can also represent the club in the Emirates FA Cup.
