Cobh Ramblers have announced the signing of Cian Bargary from Cork City.
The versatile City Academy graduate made over a century of senior appearances for the club since first joining their underage ranks in 2017. A native of Tipperary, he made his first team debut against Ramblers in 2019 and scored 3 times in 23 outings for the Leesiders last season as they powered to the First Division title.
Speaking to his new club’s media, the 24 year old enthused about the season ahead saying,
“I’m excited to join Cobh Ramblers and really looking forward to getting started; it’s a fresh start for me having been previously with Cork City for several years. It’s an exciting time for the club and I’m very excited to get in and get going.”
New manager Michael McDermott, speaking to the same source, was effusive in his praise of the new arrival at St Colman’s Park,
“Cian is a player that we targeted immediately; he has tremendous ability combined with extensive experience in the league. He has shown that he can effectively play in multiple roles along the entire right side of the pitch. His energy and enthusiasm is something that fits well with our plans in Cobh.”
