Eoin Kenny re-signs with Dundalk.
Young striker Eoin Kenny has signed up for the 2025 First Division season with the relegated Lilywhites. Having netted twice in the Premier Division last season, as well as finding the net a half dozen times for the Under 20s and the opener in the Malone Cup, the 18 year old (he turns 19 before the end of the month) showed plenty of promise in 2024.
Despite his relative youth, the striker already has experience of the First Division after a 2023 loan spell with Wexford FC.
Speaking with his club’s media, the Derry born son of former Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny expressed his joy at returning to Oriel Park for 2025, “I’m delighted and I’ll look to push on from my own personal performances last season and hopefully do well.
“I think there’s potential to create something really special. Our aim, everyone’s aim is to win the league, to get promotion. That’s the first thing we want to do – get Dundalk back in the Premier Division. I think the journey to do that can really be something special.
“It is a massive negative and it’s heartbreaking to get relegated, but it does create the potential for something really special this season, and a season that all the players, and I’m sure most of the fans, won’t forget, if we do well. But obviously there’s a lot of work to do before that happens.”
