Cobh Ramblers have announced the return of Jack Doherty to the club ahead of the 2025 season.

His 18 goals in the 2023 league campaign helped propel The Rams into the Play Off Final before he was snapped up by Cork City last season for their title winning campaign- his eight goals helping them on their way.

With previous spells at Wexford, Longford Town and Waterford, the 30 year old is an experienced First Division operator with an affinity for the St Colman’s Park outfit- as he explained when speaking with his club’s media.

I'm delighted to be back at a club that has done a lot for me and my family; I loved it down here the last time and I’m delighted to be back at a place where I feel at home and can enjoy my football. The club is going in the right direction and I’m happy to be a part of that."

New Ramblers boss Michael McDermott was equally as enthused about the skilful attacker’s return to the club, “When we realised Jack was available we immediately made it a priority to bring him back to Cobh. After speaking with Jack and hearing of his desire to return to the club, the relationship he had with the community and fans; it became an easy decision for me. He has quality, he has experience and he has the ambition and desire that matches what we want to accomplish in Cobh.”

Chairman Bill O’Leary was similarly as enthusiastic when also speaking to the club’s media team, “Getting Jack back to Cobh is huge; He is loved here. It’s a statement of intent as to the ambition of our team, our Club and our Community."
