UEFA championship draws reveal opponents for Ireland's youth teams

Ireland's men's youth football teams are gearing up for a series of important fixtures following the recent UEFA draws held in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draws have outlined the path for both the under-17 and under-19 squads as they aim for success in their respective European championships.

The under-17 squad is set to participate in the 2024-25 Elite Round, where they will face Belgium, Iceland, and host nation Poland. These matches will decide if they will secure a place in the finals tournament scheduled for the following summer in Romania.

Meanwhile, the under-19 team has been drawn into Group 6 of the Elite Round qualifiers for the 2024-25 UEFA Men's Under-19 EUROs. They will compete against Finland, Germany, and Slovenia, with Germany hosting the games. The finals will also take place in Romania, offering another opportunity for Ireland's young talents to shine on the European stage.

In preparation for the 2025-26 season, the under-17 team will travel to Estonia for the tournament. Their challenge begins in Group 6, which includes Austria, the Faroe Islands, and Kosovo, the latter of which will host the games.

The under-19s are also preparing for their 2025-26 Qualifying Round, where they will encounter Cyprus, Kazakhstan, and the Netherlands in Group 1. The Netherlands will host these fixtures, leading up to the finals in Wales.
