Cork City agree deal to sign Benny Couto
Premier Division side Cork City have unveiled the signing of Benny Couto.
The left back, 21, was born in Portugal and moved to the UK at a young age before progressing through the academy at Oldham Athletic.
He then made 28 appearances for their first-team. Couto joins City from English non-league outfit Ashton United.
“I’m delighted to be joining Cork City,” he said. “It’s a huge club and an exciting challenge, and I really can’t wait to get going.
I’ve seen what Turner’s Cross is like on matchday, and I can’t wait to step out there as a City player.”
And City boss Tim Clancy added: “Benny is a very exciting young player, and is someone that I’m very pleased to have on board.
“He is a player with massive potential, and despite his age, brings experience from the English Football League, which is exactly what we are looking for.”
Cork City FC are delighted to announce that we have agreed terms for the signing of Benny Couto.
