Promoted Premier Division side Cork City have unveiled the signing of winger Alex Nolan from St Patrick’s Athletic ahead of the 2025 campaign.

The former UCD wideman, 21, makes the switch to the Leesiders after making 22 league appearances this year.

He also featured in the Saints’ UEFA Europa Conference League campaign.

“Alex is a very exciting young winger who has been in high demand, so we’re delighted to get this deal done,” Cork boss Tim Clancy said.

“Although he is still a very young player, he has been a part of a Cup winning side and has featured in a European campaign, so he knows the standards that are expected as we return to the Premier Division.

“I know exactly what kind of player we’re getting in Alex, and what he will add to the squad for next season.

“We are in discussions with a number of players at the minute, and are hopeful of confirming further additions to the squad in the near future.”

Meanwhile, City have also confirmed that defender Harry Nevin will remain at Turner’s Cross for another season.

The former Preston North End youth made 17 league appearances in the First Division this year before his season was cut short due to injury in the summer.

He joins Nolan, Malik Dijksteel, Greg Bolger, Matthew Kiernan, Charlie Lyons, Sean Murray, Ruairi Keating, Seani Maguire and Cathal O’Sullivan in committing to the City fold for 2025.
