Premier Sports will host a General Election special programme on Monday (25th November) with a kick-off of 8pm.  

Ahead of next Friday's General Election, the programme, hosted by Matt Cooper, will have candidates from the major political parties as guests on the live TV show to discuss their party's manifestoes as they relate to sport.

Confirmed contributors to date include Minister for State with responsibility for Sport and Fianna Fáil candidate in Meath East Thomas Byrne, Minister of State and Fine Gael candidate in Dublin-Rathdown Neale Richmond, Councillor Shane O’Brien who is candidate for Sinn Fein in Dún Laoghaire and Councillor Darragh Moriarty who is the Labour candidate in Dublin South Central. 

Premier Sports have stated that ‘the candidates will be asked to debate their parties’ intentions on a variety of topics including investment in sports infrastructure, the pursuit and potential of hosting major events, support for women and girls in sport, investment in soccer, approach to minority sports, physical education in schools and colleges, the funding of horse and greyhound racing and community provisions.’
