Conor Kearns, Sean Boyd and Tyreke Wilson pen new deals with Shelbourne

Premier Division holders Shelbourne have confirmed the re-signings of trio Conor Kearns, Sean Boyd and Tyreke Wilson.

News of this emerges after Shane Griffin, Matty Smith and Dean Williams left the Reds just last week.

But the return of Kearns, Boyd and Wilson will provide Shels with a welcome shot in the arm ahead of their title defence next year.

Kearns played every minute in the league, conceded just 27 goals and kept 16 clean sheets.

Boyd made 27 appearances in the League of Ireland this year scoring 10 goals.

Wilson was an ever-present, making 34 League of Ireland appearances and scoring one goal. He has put pen to paper on a new multi-year deal with the Reds.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be extending my stay at Shelbourne,” Kearns said. “I’ve loved every minute of my time at Shels since coming here and continuing that journey was a no-brainer.

“Last year was a special one that will live long in the memory of everyone involved at the club, but there’s plenty more work to be done to continue the rise that has taken place over the last couple of years, and I can’t wait to get back to work and to be a part of a group that will continue to strive achieve that.”

Boyd added: “Thrilled to be at this club for another year, it’s been an amazing journey from when the Gaffer took over 3 years ago to now, last year was special but that should be the standard for this club. See you all in Tolka next season. Up The Reds.”

And Wilson said on his deal: “I feel I've improved as a player and to be part of something really special, bringing the League of Ireland title back to Tolka is something I am so happy and proud of, but the work is only getting started and I'm delighted to get going again.”
