Gary Hunt departs as head coach of Cobh Ramblers
Cobh Ramblers have announced the departure of head coach Gary Hunt, marking the end of his tenure with the League of Ireland First Division side.
In a statement, the club expressed gratitude for Hunt’s contributions during his time at the helm.
Hunt, reflecting on his departure, shared mixed emotions about leaving the club.
“I’m disappointed not to be able to continue the work we started here, but I wish the club all the best as they move forward,” he said.
The former coach highlighted some of the key milestones achieved under his leadership.
“We achieved Cobh’s third-highest points-per-game ratio in the past seven years and integrated ten young academy players into match-day squads throughout the season, something I hope will help the club in the future.”
Acknowledging the support he received, Hunt added, “I’m grateful for the support from the board, my staff, and the players, as well as the incredible welcome from the fans, who truly are the heart of this club.”
Cobh Ramblers have confirmed that the search for Hunt’s successor is already underway.
