Darragh Leahy and Ben McCormack pen new deals with Waterford as Niall O’Keefe departs
Premier Division Waterford have confirmed that they have re-signed duo Darragh Leahy and Ben McCormack ahead of the 2025 campaign.
Both players had contracts set to expire at the end of the season but have since committed to another year at the RSC.
Though the club have confirmed they have parted ways with Niall O’Keefe and Dean Larkin - both of whom played for the club at underage level.
Christie Pattisson, Connor Evans, Connor Parsons, Gbemi Arubi, Joseph Forde, Robbie McCourt and Sam Bellis have also left the Blues.
Calum Costello, Grant Horton, Jason Healy, Kacper Radkowski, Kyle White, Padraig Amond, Ryan Burke and Ronan Mansfield (On loan at Fleetwood Town FC) remain under contract at the club.
Rowan MacDonald and Darragh Power have also been offered new deals.
But 26-year-old Leahy has opted to remain, having made 36 appearances in all competitions for Keith Long’s side last year.
“I’m delighted to be here again next year, it was a no brainer for me,” he said.
“I have really enjoyed my time here at Waterford so far, and most importantly I’m back enjoying my football again.
“We’ll look to kick on again next season after a good first year back in the Premier Division and see where that takes us.”
McCormack too returns with 33 appearances to his name in all competitions this year.
“I’m delighted to stay at Waterford,” he added. “I really enjoyed it here last year at the RSC, and I hope we can do bigger and better things next season.”
