Conor McCormack returns for his fifth season at Eamon Deacy Park and his second as captain of Galway United.

Originally from Louth, the midfielder has made 113 competitive appearances for the club since signing from Derry City in 2021, with 35 of those appearances coming in the 2024 campaign.

An integral part of Galway’s dominant march to First Division glory in 2023, McCormack took on the captaincy as the club returned to the top flight of Irish football - a season in which they finished fifth, exceeding everyone’s expectations.

The former Ireland youth international aims to continue his impressive record of appearances, having barely missed a game since joining the Connacht side.

McCormack was a Manchester United academy product and, early in his career, spent time in Italy’s Serie C with Triestina. He returned to Ireland in 2011 and joined Shamrock Rovers, making three Champions League appearances against Flora and FC Copenhagen.
