Ireland squad named for Finland and England UEFA Nations League games

Heimir Hallgrímsson has named a 23-man Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Finland and England.

The Boys in Green will begin their double header with the visit of Finland to the Aviva Stadium on Thursday November 14 (kick-off at 7.45pm) before England will welcome Ireland to Wembley on Sunday, November 17, with kick-off at 5pm. 

Ireland skipper Seamus Coleman makes a return to the squad following injury while Shane Duffy is also drafted in. 

Stoke City striker Tom Cannon gets a call up as does Andy Moran who has been a standout player in the last Ireland under-21 campaign.

Matt Doherty remains out in the cold nor is there a place for Alan Browne.

Injury means that Jamie McGrath, Chiedozie Ogbene, Andrew Omobamidele, Will Smallbone, and  Jack Taylor miss out.

Defenders: Seamus Coleman (Everton), Dara O'Shea (Ipswich Town), Nathan Collins (Brentford), Shane Duffy (Norwich City), Mark McGuinness (Luton Town), Liam Scales (Celtic), Callum O'Dowda (Cardiff City).

Midfielders: Josh Cullen (Burnley), Jason Knight (Bristol City), Jayson Molumby (West Bromwich Albion), Finn Azaz (Middlesbrough), Andy Moran (Stoke City, on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion).



Forwards: Adam Idah (Celtic), Evan Ferguson (Brighton and Hove Albion), Tom Cannon (Stoke City, on loan from Leicester City), Troy Parrott (AZ Alkmaar), Festy Ebosele (Watford, on loan from Udinese), Kasey McAteer (Leicester City), Sammie Szmodics (Ipswich Town), Mikey Johnston (West Bromwich Albion).
